We first heard of these enchanting islands from this tiny gem of a book published by the Scottish Tourist Board.
And the sentence that got our attention was the one that said this island is known to be Scotland in miniature! Imagine, one of the most beautiful islands in one of the most beautiful places on the planet! We can’t wait to discover it.
Arran is the largest island in the Firth of Clyde and the seventh largest Scottish island, at 432 square kilometres. The Arran Tourist Office says:
“Getting to Arran couldn’t be easier. If you’re driving it is less than 3 hrs drive time from the North of England, and if you want to use public transport there are great rail links directly to Ardrossan Harbour.”
We found a wonderful Scotland blog that will inspire you to put Arran on your wishlist! Check out The Chaotic Scot.
