It’s the highest point in Spain. It’s the highest point above sea level in the islands of the Atlantic. It’s the 3rd tallest volcanic structure on earth.It’s an active volcano, which last erupted in 1909. It’s been named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

And most charmingly, it is home to the Teide Violet, the highest flowering plant in all of Spain.

Since we’re indoor-bound these days and dreaming of lands far away, we picked the Canary Islands for a spot of feel-good visualising…and yes, the adrenaline is already pumping at the prospect of exploring the towering Teide. We learnt that huge Hollywood movies such as Clash of the Titans and Fast and Furious were shot here.

We gulped at the thought of walking this volcanic wilderness by night, as many adventure lovers do.
